For her first piece. Candace Bushnell (Author Sex and the City) wore the Manolo boots for her first shoot and went to a sex club called Le Trapeze, where a photographer took a picture of her standing on top of a pile of garbage in a towel wearing them. This was the beginning of Sex and the City.
When she bought the boots, she remembered the saleswoman telling her, "These are fabulous." They were the hot boot, her first pair of Manolo's.
She wore them with everything, she finally had something she could walk in, she wore them everywhere, for years. This is how Manolo became a vital part of the show and was constantly praised.
The company since then has collaborated with many top brands like Yves Saint Laurent and has also collaborated with Icons like Rihanna. The latest for the brand is the collaboration with Birkenstocks, still truly living by their name "Comfort with Glamour"
