BRAND STORY: Lodha Group

  • Mangal Prabhat Lodha established the Lodha Group in Mumbai in 1980, initially specializing in building middle-class homes in the far-flung suburbs of the city.

  • In 2003, Lodha's sons Abhishek and Abhinandan joined the business, further fueling the expansion of the company. While Abhinandan has since left the business, Abhishek continues to contribute to the group's success.

  • Listed as Macrotech Developers, the company gained recognition for its integrated township projects. Its emphasis on luxury living is evident in the development of exclusive residential properties. Palava City, a 4,500-acre township near Mumbai, designed to accommodate a population of 1 lakh (100,000) residents, has been hailed as one of India's most promising smart cities.The Lodha Altamount, located in South Mumbai, set a record for the most expensive apartment sold in India, with a price tag of approximately ₹160 crore (around $24 million).

  • Another one of Lodha's notable achievements was the construction of Mumbai's Trump Tower, a luxurious 75-story skyscraper located in the heart of the city. The tower is part of The Park, a prestigious residential complex. Lodha's visionary leadership led to the development of several iconic projects, including the World One Tower in Mumbai, which stands as the tallest residential tower in the world outside of the Middle East, reaching a height of 442 meters.

  • In 2021, Macrotech Developers successfully completed its long-delayed initial public offering (IPO), marking a significant milestone for the company. The IPO showcased investor confidence in Lodha's vision and the potential of the real estate sector.The IPO raised around ₹2,500 crore (approximately $333 million), reflecting investor confidence in Lodha's business acumen.

  • Lodha continues to lead Macrotech Developers with a vision to further expand its presence and deliver innovative projects that redefine urban living experiences in Mumbai and beyond. Macrotech Developers expanded its operations beyond India and ventured into international markets. The company has undertaken projects in London, Dubai, and the United States, broadening its global footprint.
