MERCEDES EQS 580 LAUNCH: FIRST MADE IN INDIA LUXURY EV

Mercedes-Benz India officially confirmed that it will be launching its all-new EQS 580 on September 30, 2022. After the launch of its flagship AMG EQS 53, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 will be the second EV from the German car luxury car manufacturer in the Indian market.

Measuring 5,216mm in length, 1,926mm in width and with a wheelbase of 3,210mm, the EQS 580 is just marginally smaller than the AMG variant. Owing to its range-maximizing philosophy, the EQS 580 also has better aerodynamic efficiency rated at 0.20Cd compared to 0.23Cd of the AMG. Visually, the car will feature subtle design details. The blocked-off front grille features miniature stars which illuminate unlike the vertical slats on the AMG. The aggressive front and rear bumpers on the AMG version get replaced by different ones. It will come with 5-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels and five exterior colour options.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC will be rolled off the assembly line at the brand’s plant in Chakan, Pune by the Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari. The brand will expedite the deliveries of the vehicles for existing Mercedes-Benz customers. Price-wise, the local assembly is expected to bring the price down by about Rs 50-60 lakh compared to the AMG variant which is priced at Rs 2.45 crore (ex-showroom).
